Michael Meier

Planner

Mike Meier is a Planner with BCLA. Mike received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Anthropology and Linguistics in 2008 from New York University. After graduating, Mike worked as Director of Analytics for a technology company in the online media industry, developing research and reporting tools and selling platform services to large media and advertising companies. He returned to his hometown of Stuart in 2014 and co-founded a successful small urban farm, market, and restaurant business with two high school friends. Mike was tapped by Stuart Commissioner Becky Bruner to join the Community Redevelopment Advisory Board before being elected to the Stuart City Commission himself in 2018. Mike served two terms through 2022 and was honored to serve as Mayor in 2020. Having also served as Chairman of the Treasure Coast Council of Local Governments and First Vice President of the Treasure Coast Regional League of Cities, Mike took on the role of lead regional legislative advocate and was honored as Home Rule Hero by the Florida League of Cities each year 2019-2022. At BCLA, Mike specializes in legislative impacts on community planning as well as environmental, sustainability, and climate concerns. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, biking, and camping throughout Florida’s exquisite parklands.
